Raw Banana Fry Recipe - Raw Banana Recipes(Plantain Curry - Vazhakkai Recipes)

Raw Banana Fry Recipe - Raw Banana Recipes(Plantain Curry - Vazhakkai Recipes):

Raw banana fry(Plantain curry)  is one of the easy raw banana recipes which can save your time a lot while preparing lunch for the family in the busy morning time. If I wake up late and do not want to miss giving lunch to hubby, I choose raw banana fry recipe next to urulaikilangu poriyal/Potato Poriyal. We call raw banana as vazhakkai in Tamil.

I got up very late one day and I thought it was too late to prepare and pack lunch for hubby. I did not even have potato at that time in stock. When I call my mom at that time, she told me to try this Raw banana recipe. We call it as Vazhakkai varuval. Seeing me preparing something in the last minute, my hubby got afraid and told me that he did not need lunch :) But, he told me that the plantain curry was very good and even his lunch mates liked it so much.

Since the raw banana which I used to click photographs was about to ripen, the curry was having a hint of yellow color. If you use a good raw banana, you will get a nice golden brown color. The color also depends on the quantity of turmeric powder and red chilli powder you add.

Amla Recipes - Nellikai Recipes - Amla Yogurt Raita Reicpe

Amla Recipes - Nellikai Recipes - Amla Yogurt Raita Reicpe:

Amla raita is one of the amla recipes which does not have the bitterness. I have already posted amla rice recipe which also does not have bitterness. I have grated amla and added it to the curd. You can also remove the seeds and grind it in the mixie. But you should not grind it to a fine paste consistency. It should be a coarse paste. This will give you crunchiness and it avoids bitterness at the same time.

No need to mention that amla is a natural coolant. Curd is also a natural coolant. So, amla raita is a perfect coolant recipe for summer. Amla raita is a perfect accompaniment for chapathi. I will not prepare any other side dish if I prepare amla raita. It tastes so good and goes well with roti and phulka too. Veg briyani is another main course with which we can serve amla raita.

Amla Raita

Amla is rich in Vitamin C and so many other nutrients too. It is not only good for body. It is good to preserve your beauty too. Okay. Now let us move on to the easy nellikai recipe - Amla raitha(Nellikai Thayir pachadi in Tamil).

Masala semiya is a spicy variant of the usual semiya upma(vermicelli upma) we prepare frequently. Just little more effort can give a spicy and tangy twist to the regular semiya upma. Yes. Believe me. Onion gives crunchiness, tomato makes the semiya upma tangy, carrot gives sweetness and peas does not fail to five its own flavor and taste. Garam masala and red chilli powders add spicyness.

Homemade Pasta Sauce Recipe with tomato - How to make pasta sauce at home

Homemade Pasta Sauce Recipe with tomato - How to make pasta sauce at home:

Homemade pasta sauce recipe I have shared here is an easy and quick pasta sauce recipe and can be made from fresh tomatoes at home. To my surprise, the taste was very good and better than even the store bought pasta sauces. My hubby who does not prefer pasta recipes loved this pasta. Even when I buy Maggi Pasta, I buy it for me alone since both my hubby and kid do not eat it. But they both love the pasta made with this home made tomato pasta sauce.

About the taste of homemade tomato Italian pasta sauce:

It is a sweet, spicy and tangy as well. You can adjust the quantity of dry red chillies according to your taste. You can omit adding the red chillies or reduce the quantity when you prepare the sauce for kids. You can also adjust the quantity of sugar. You can add more number of red chillies for spicy pasta lovers.

Storage suggestion:

You can store it in fridge and use it up to a week. I always prefer to consume it within 2 days since the flavor tends to reduce if we store any food item for a long time.

Pasta Sauce

Ingredients you should not miss to get a nice flavor:

Tomato is the main ingredient. But olive oil, oregano and garlic flakes takes the taste of the pasta sauce many steps ahead. In worst case, Olive oil can be substituted with any edible oil and oregano can be replaced with any dried herbs or basil leaves. No substitution for garlic flakes.

Nestle Cerelac India Review - Cerelac Stages 1,2,3 & 4 Reviews

Nestle Cerelac India Review - Cerelac Stages 1,2,3 & 4 Reviews:

I wanted to share my review on Nestle Cerelac Product with you all for a long time. The time has come now. I was giving it for my kid from 6 months till 2 years. Now my kid is 2.75 years old. I have used all the Nestle Cerelac Stages 1,2,3 and 4. I thought I would post my review on cerelac now itself since I might forget the things as the time passes quickly. I hope it will be useful for mothers of babies(6 months - 2 years) and expecting women to take informed decision.

Cerelac, Farex and Lactogen are few of the trusted brands which are existing in the market for a long time. My mom used to say that she had given Cerelac and Farex to my sister when she was a baby.

How did I decide to try Cerelac?

Like many other new mothers, I was also in a confusion whether to try Cerelac or not for my kid. But my mom strongly suggested to introduce Cerelac to the baby. She told me that it is the best option when we need to go away from home for long hours like day long shopping, functions, parties or any other appointments where we cannot get homemade food. Also, it is easy to carry wherever we go. I found her advice to be meaningful. So I started giving Cerelac to my baby.

Price and Available Flavors:

You can check the current flavors and price in the link - http://www.babyoye.com/c/Baby-Food

Was it useful for me?

Yes, of course. I used to give at least once daily. My child liked it very much. I found it very useful when I went outside for long hours, when my child woke up in the middle and played for a long time in the mid night, when my child woke up before me.

What flavors my kid liked in each stage?

Cerelac Stage 1: Wheat Apple
Cerelac Stage 2: Wheat Apple Cherry
Cerelac Stage 3: Wheat Rice Mixed Fruits
Cerelac Stage 4: Multi Grain 5 fruits

I made a point to include Wheat and Apple(or fruits) in all the stages since I included Rice everyday at home.

My suggestions:

1. You should train you baby to Cerelac when you are at home itself. Do not think that you will give only when required. Baby might not eat a new food well all of a sudden. So, you should make a point to give it frequently so that the baby will get used to it.

Musk Melon Juice Recipe-Cantaloupe (Kirni Palam) Juice

Kirni Juice Recipe - Musk Melon Juice Recipe-Cantaloupe (Kirni Palam) Juice:

Musk melon juice is a refreshing and healthy juice which is very much required in summer. We call Musk Melon(cantaloupe) as Kirni Palam here. I have never shown interest in Kirni Palam before marriage. Even my friend Priya used to buy this whenever she was in diet. But I have never tasted it.

My hubby buys Musk melon fruit and makes Kirni juice very often. I have tasted it only after marriage. Seeing the size of the fruit, I never came forward in making musk melon juice. I used to ask him for making it.

Last month, one Cantaloupe was sitting in fridge for a long time inside the vegetable tray. My hubby was too busy at that time. So, I came forward to try my hands. It came out very well. My kid also liked it. You can see the little one trying to grab the glass while shooting the above photograph :) Once you pour into the glasses, the juice will automatically form 2 layers. I like it very much. If the juice is so thick, you will not get layers. It should be little diluted.

I do not like eating it as such since it has very very light sweetness. So, I always prefer to have it as juice only. So, juice is the good way to include musk melon in diet if you do not like eating it as such.

So, before moving onto the recipe, I want to highlight the benefits of Musk Melon(Cantaloupe) juice.

Musk Melon Juice Health Benefits:

1. Reduces the heat in the body.

2. Great fruit to include if you are in diet. Since it has significant amount of fiber, it will give you the feeling of fullness quickly.

3. Rich in Potassium and it can control the blood pressure level.

4. Prevents the risk of strokes.

5. Good source of Vitamin A, B and C.

7. Rich in Magnesium and Sodium.

Now, let us see how to make Cantaloupe juice(Musk melon juice).
