Paneer Fried Rice Recipe | How To Make Paneer Fried Rice:

Paneer fried rice is a very easy one pot meal recipe which can be made in a jiffy. Yes. One day my hubby went for his friend's marriage in Kerala. I had to cook only for me and my kid. I opened my fridge to see what to prepare for lunch. There was crumbled paneer sitting for more than 3 days. Immediately I decided to make paneer fried rice.

About the taste:

Tastes great with nicely coated olive oil. Tomato sauce, Carrot and sugar gives sweetness. Drop capsicum if you want only sweet flavor.

About the recipe:

Quite easy and very tasty. You need to chop only onion, carrot and capsicum. Crumbled paneer or finely cut paneer cubes works well. Great for lunch and dinner. Serve it for guests, kids to delight them easily. Best for bachelors and to pack in lunchbox.

  • Basmathi rice - 1 cup
  • Crumbled Paneer - 1 cup
  • Carrot - 1
  • Capsicum - 1/2(optional)
  • Spring onion - 1 tbsp chopped green and 1 tbsp chopped white
  • (or)
  • Big onion - 1
  • Tomato sauce - 1 tsp(optional but gives very nice taste)
  • Soya sauce - 1/2 tsp(optional)
  • Pepper powder - to sprinkle
  • Sugar - 1/2 - 1 tsp to taste(Drop it if you do not like sweetness)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Olive oil - 2 tbsp(or any refined sunflower oil)


1. Rinse Basmati rice thrice and soak it for 30 minutes. Cook it according to the instructions in the pack. Generally we need to add 1.5 cups of water for 1 cup of rice. Cook for 2 to 3 whistles as required. Spread it on a plate. Separate the grains with the help of a fork and allow it cool down.

2.Soak the crumbled paneer or paneer cubes in warm water for 10 minutes and drain it well. It makes the paneer quite soft.


3. Heat olive oil in a pan. Add chopped spring onion white part or big onion and saute well till they turn translucent.


4. Add carrot and saute well in high flame till it shrinks. Add capsicum and saute in high flame till half cooked. Do not overcook the capsicum. Make sure that you do not burn the veggies but you should get nice smoky flavor. Adjust flames and cook.


5. Add soya sauce, tomato sauce, sugar and salt. Give a quick stir. Add crumbled paneer or paneer cubes and saute for 30 seconds.


6.Add cooked rice and spring onion green part now and mix well till everything blend nicely.


Tasty and easy veg paneer fried rice is ready to serve.
