Carrot Chutney Recipe - Easy Chutney Recipe for Idli and Dosa(Gajar Recipes)

Carrot Chutney is another easy chutney recipe. Since we add carrot to the chutney, it will be not spicy. So, it will be definitely liked by kids. Carrot chutney is a great way to add vegetable if you have missed to give vegetable during lunch. Carrot chutney recipe which I have given here is less spicy. You can add more red chillies and make the chutney according to your taste. You can serve carrot chutney as a side dish for roti too. Let us see how to make carrot chutney here.

Carrot Chutney Recipe - Easy Chutney Recipe for Idli and Dosa:


Carrot Chutney


Prep Time: 5 mins    |    Cook Time: 3 mins    |    Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • Grated carrot  - 100 g
  • Grated Coconut - 100 g
  • Red chillies - 3 - 5
  • Tamarind - A peanut size
  • Salt - As required
  • Urad dal - 1.25 tbsp

  • To Temper:

  • Oil(Sesame oil tastes good) - 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Small Onion shallots - 5 chopped finely(optional)
  • Curry Leaves - few



Instructions:


1. Heat 1/2 tsp oil in a pan. Add urad dal and red chillies. Saute till nice aroma comes.  Add grated carrot immediately. Saute till the raw smell of carrot goes off.  Transfer it to a plate and allow them to cool.






2. Heat the remaining oil in the same pan and add mustard seeds. Allow them to splutter. Add urad dal, small onions(optional) and curry leaves. Saute till the urad dal color starts changing. Switch off the stove.

3. Grind roasted carrot, grated coconut, salt, urad dal, red chillies and tamarind in a mixer with little water.

4. Transfer it to a serving bowl.

5. Add the tempered items to the serving bowl and mix them well.

Carrot chutney is ready to serve. It is a healthy chutney recipe.
