Broccoli Paratha Recipe - How To Make Broccoli Paratha:

Broccoli Paratha is the easiest and tastiest way of adding more broccoli in your diet. Broccoli paratha is a great time saving dish since you do not need to make any side dish for it. Since we are using broccoli to stuff the paratha, it is so healthy. Even though Broccoli vegetable is costly, it is recommended to include broccoli dishes atleast once a week. Broccoli reduces the risk of cancer. Broccoli in Tamil - Pachchai Pookosu. Just plain curd can be a great accompaniment for broccoli paratha. You do not need to prepare any side dish. You do not need to worry even if you do not have curd at home. Broccoli paratha tastes well even without curd.

Broccoli Paratha Recipe

Easy Broccoli Paratha Recipe 

Ingredients:


To Make the Dough:
  • Wheat Flour - 800g
  • Salt - As required
  • Water - As required
  • Oil - 1 tsp 
To Stuff:
  • Broccoli - 1 small size
  • Onion - 1 finely chopped
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds/Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - A pinch
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Salt - As required
  • Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp
  • Water - To Sprinkle
Other Ingredients:
  • Wheat Flour - for rolling
  • Oil- for cooking




Instructions:


1. Make dough for Broccoli paratha like normal chapathi dough using wheat flour, salt, oil and water. Keep it covered for 15 minutes.



2. Know - How to clean Broccoli. Heat water in a wide pan. 
Add salt and few drops of vinegar to the hot water. Clean the Broccoli florets and put them in hot water for sometime to kill the worms.  Drain the water completely and grate the Broccoli florets using normal grater or food processer .

3. Heat oil in a pan and add onions. Fry till they turn translucent. 







4. 
Add cumin seeds and allow it to crackle. Add ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell leaves. Add grated broccoli, turmeric, red chilli, garam masala powder, salt and mix well. Sprinkle little water and saute the mixture till the raw smell of broccoli leaves and it gets cooked. Cook in medium flame.


5. Add coriander leaves, give a quick stir and switch off. Now the stuff for broccoli paratha is ready.





6. Make smooth balls from the prepared paratha dough. The ball size should be little bigger than normal chapathi balls we prepare.





7. Flatten the ball slightly and keep a generous amount of broccoli stuff in the center. Bring together all the sides of the ball in the center and seal the dough completely. Make sure that you place more amount of stuff as far as possible to make the Broccoli Paratha very tasty.









8. Flatten the dough and start rolling using rolling pin with the help of wheat flour for dusting. Make sure that the stuff does not come out. Roll out gently.





9. Heat tawa and cook both sides of Broccoli paratha. Drizzle little oil.
