Wheat Bread Cutlet Recipe - Easy Whole Wheat Carrot Bread Cutlet Recipe:
This is a very simple yet healthy recipe that can be made in just 15 minutes. I was planning to make cutlets for my kid one fine evening. When I was about to make, I realised that potato was not there. I rarely think making cutlets without potato. Potato gives a nice taste and helps us to make soft cutlets. Sadly, it was not there. I was running out of time and expected my kid to wake up anytime.

When I had a sneak-peak inside my fridge, I found out the bread packet lying with just 4 slices. I suddenly got an idea of making bread cutlets. I had only 1 carrot in stock. I was afraid whether the cutlet will be having the taste of the bread predominantly. I did not want in that way. I also wanted to make it very quickly.
With a lot of hesitation, I went ahead and made the cutlets by grinding bread slices, onion and carrot and the result was awesome.
I would say this is one of my healthiest after school snacks ideas for kids. I used whole wheat bread which I bought from BigBasket. It is from free preservatives and chemicals. I am not advertising this product. I just liked it and thought of sharing about the bread. It is made with wheat bran, wheat atta and salt. There is no gluten.

Wheat Bread Cutlet Recipe - Easy Whole Wheat Carrot Bread Cutlet Recipe
Easy Whole Wheat bread cutlet made with carrot and onion.

- Whole Wheat Bread - 4 slices
- Big Onion - 1
- Carrot - 1
- Cheese - As required.
- Water - As required
- Salt - As required
- Red Chilli Powder - 1/4 - 1/2 tsp as required
- Pepper Powder - 1/8 tsp(optional)
- Cumin seeds/Jeera Powder - 1/4 tsp - 1/2 tsp as required
- Garam Masala Powder or Chat Masala Powder - 1/8 tsp
- Coriander Leaves - 1 tbsp finely chopped
- Oil - To toast the cutlets
- Sweet Tomato Ketchup - 1 tbsp(optional)
- Chop onions and carrots roughly just for easier grinding.
- Grind whole wheat bread slices, onion and carrot in a mixie. Sprinkle very little water just for easier binding. Do not make a paste. Just grind it to a coarse powder that is easy to make cutlet. Water should be added only limited.
- Add grated cheese to the ground bread mixture. I have added Mozzarella cheese. You can add as much as you want.
- Add salt, sweet tomato sauce(optiona), red chilli powder, pepper powder, jeera powder, garam masala powder or chat masala powder and chopped coriander leaves. I did not have coriander leaves in stock. So, I did not add. Mix well.
- Make round shaped cutlets out of the mixture. Add oil or ghee if you find it difficult to make. Make sure that you make 1/2 inch or 1-inch cutlets(in height) and not more than that. Otherwise, the ingredients will not get cooked well.
- Grease a dosa pan with oil or ghee. Place 3 wheat bread cutlets at a time. Spread oil around the wheat bread cutlets. Cook on both sides till brown spots appear. Do not burn it.
