Coriander Chutney | Cilantro Chutney Recipe (Kothamalli Thogayal | Kothamalli Thuvaiyal):
Ingredients:
Coriander leaves/ Kothamalli - 1 small bunch
Tamarind - A small piece
Salt - As required
Oil - 2 tsp
Red Chilli - 2 or 3
Coconut - 1.5 tbsp(optional)
To Temper:
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Hing - 1/2 tsp
Preparation:
1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan and fry red chillies, coconut(optional) and Coriander leaves till the leaves become small like in the below picture. Set it aside.
2. Heat another 1 tsp oil in the same pan and fry the 'To Temper' items till the items splutter.
3. Allow it to cool and grind all the items in a mixie with salt and required water.
Serve the Coriander chutney hot.
