Aloo Bonda is a perfect snack which is both really quick and very tasty recipe. I chose Aloo Bonda to prepare last week since I had my dad and a couple of guests at home. It came out very well. The taste was very yummy than I expected. Aloo Bonda recipe is a foolproof one. The only thing you have to take care is preparing the batter in right consistency. Aloo Bonda is a healthy snack too. Even my kid loved it very much. I was happy to see every one enjoyed the Aloo Bonda very much. Now let us see the Aloo Bonda recipe.

Aloo Bonda Recipe - Potato Bonda - Quick, Easy and Healthy snacks:



Aloo Bonda Recipe

Quick, Easy and Healthy snacks for kids

Ingredients:

  • Potato - 4 
  • Onion - 1 Big
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/8 tsp
  • Salt - As required
  • Oil - To deep fry
To Make the batter:
  • Besan Flour/ Gram Flour - 150g
  • Rice flour - 75g
  • Turmeric powder - A pinch
  • Red Chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Cooking Soda - A pinch
  • Salt - As required
  • Asafoetida - 3 pinches
  • Ghee - 1 tsp(optional)
  • Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp(optional)
To Temper:
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp 
  • Urad Dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - few 




Instructions:




1. Pressure cook the potatoes in high flame for 4 whistles. 


2. Meanwhile, chop the onions finely and keep aside.

3. Peel off the skin from cooked potatoes and mash it well.

4. Heat oil in a pan and add the 'To Temper' items one by one. 

5. Add ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell leaves.

6. Add onions and fry till they turn transparent. The color should not change.




7. Add mashed potatoes, salt and turmeric powder. Mix well. I did not add red chilli powder. But you can add if you like.




8. Allow the Aloo Bonda stuff to cool down.

9. Meanwhile get ready with the batter. 

10. Take a wide bowl and mix all the items listed under 'To Make the Batter'.



11. Add water little by little. It should be thick enough to coat the potatoes.




12. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.




13. Now make equal sized balls in your desired size from the Aloo Bonda stuff to make the Aloo Bonda.




14. Once the oil becomes hot, cook the Aoo Bondas. Take care to cook all sides of Aloo Bonda. Also, take care of Aloo Bondas not getting burnt.



The easy and kids friendly snack 'Aloo Bonda' is ready. Serve hot with coconut chutney. 




Make sure you prepare in more quantity to avoid disappointments :-) I got disappointed since I got only 3 Aloo Bondas left for me. It was so tasty and I could not control myself.
