Easy Coconut Chutney Recipe(Thengai Chutney Recipe)

I am here to share the easy to make Coconut chutney. Do not worry if you are a beginner in cooking. This is one of the recipe you can start with. It goes well with Idli, Dosa, Pongal and also with curd rice.

Coconut grated - 1 cup
Roasted gram dal - 2 teaspoon
Green chillies - 2 
Tamarind - A small piece
Water - As required
Salt - As required

To Temper:

Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal - 1/8 tsp
Curry leaves - few


1. Put the grated coconut, roasted gram dal, green chillies, tamarind piece and required salt in a Mixer grinder. Please take care of not overloading the mixer. In that case, the chutney will not come properly.

2. Grind it for 1 minute. Then add required little water. Grind it again. Add water little by little. Never grind anything in mixer for more than a minute. It will affect the mixer.

3. Heat oil in a pan and add the 'To Temper' items. Fry till they splutter. Add the items with the chutney. Mix it well.

4. Now your tasty Coconut chutney is ready to have.
