Pottukadalai Chutney | Porikadalai Chutney | Fried Gram Chutney Recipe

Hello friends,

Fried Gram Chutney(Pottukadalai Thogayal/Pottukadalai thuvaiyal in Tamil) is my favorite side dish for rice. If we go outside and do not have time to prepare for dinner or feeling tired, I ask my mom to cook rice and Pottukadalai chutney for dinner. It tastes so well when we mix it with rice and add some ghee. Also, it tastes good to have with rice and curd. Try this Pottukadalai Chutney at your home and make your cooking easier. You can have fried gram chutney as a side dish for Idli or Dosa too. But, i prefer to have only with rice.

Pottukadalai Chutney | Porikadalai Chutney | Fried Gram Chutney 

Prep Time: 5 mins    |  Cook time: 2 Mins    Serves: 2
Quick and Easy Fried Gram Chutney

Ingredients:

  • Fried Gram/Pottukadalai - 100g
  • Coconut grated - 50g
  • Green chillies/Red Chillies - 2-3
  • Salt - As required
  • Garlic  - 2 cloves

To Temper(optional):

  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
  • Hing - A pinch
  • Curry leaves  - Few

Instructions:


1. Grind all the ingredients in a mixie with required water.





2. Optional Step: Heat a tsp of oil. Add mustard seeds, urad dal, hing, curry leaves and allow it to splutter. Add it with the Fried Gram/Pottukadalai Chutney.


Note: I do not prefer this step while making Fried gram chutney for rice. You can do it for having with Idli and Dosa.

Fried Gram chutney is a very simple and easy to make. Do not miss to try this once at your home to have with rice. It will become a routine side dish at your house.
