Musk Melon otherwise known as Cantaloupe, belongs to the same family “Curcurbitaceeae” as that of cucumbers and pumpkins. It is a tropical fruit and is available in abundance during summers. It’s composed mostly of water and this provides a cooling effect and satiety. 

Kharbuja fruit is highly nutritious and even Kharbuja seeds have many health benefits. While it is tasty and enjoyable, it also hydrates the body during summers and provides nourishment. It has various minerals like sodium, magnesium, potassium and does not add cholesterol to the body. Vitamin A and C are found in abundance in these melons which are required to prevent any heart diseases.

Kharbuja or Kirni is rich in beta-carotene, a form of Vitamin A which is essential for sharp eyesight. Vitamin A is also found to greatly reduce the risk of developing cataracts. Regular intake of musk melon helps to keep your eyes healthy and good.



Relieves constipation:

Kharbuja or Kirni has a substantial amount of dietary fibre and water content that helps regulate bowel movements and relieves constipation. It has been found through a study that ethanol extract in musk melons relieves constipation and stomach pain. So, when you are in constipation, try eating kharbuja fruits or make Kharbuja juice and drink it to get relief from constipation.
